Introducing our new Head of Business at Jacksons Isle of Man

“A tough act to follow” were the first words of our incoming Head of Business David Bocking as he takes over the helm of Jacksons from outgoing Head, Darren Moore.

Group Managing Director, Paul Kell, welcomed Dave to the team, but was keen to first congratulate Darren on his exceptional tenure.

“Darren has been relentless in his drive to deliver a world class experience to our customers, through the efforts of our team and the premium manufacturers we represent. It is this focus that Dave will now be putting his own expert mark on. As a business, Darren’s efforts have positioned us well for a very exciting future and we genuinely wish him outstanding success in his new international role, which happily will see his family staying on island.”

Amidst any change, new challenges and opportunities arise, but Dave Bocking is well-acquainted with managing transformation at the highest levels. A true automotive aficionado, Dave joins us following his successful management of major organisations in the UK, where he consistently placed the customer at the core of every business decision. We’ll let Dave explain a bit more:

“For a lover of all things automotive, this has to be the dream job. I had been aware of the Jacksons brand for many years, having visited the Channel Islands and Isle of Man frequently. Many of us in the UK industry looked enviously at the breadth of world class manufacturers they had attracted under one roof, something that could rarely ever happen in the UK.

Having already spoken to many customers, it is evident that Darren has built a customer first culture here that goes beyond ‘just selling cars’, and that’s exactly how it should be. Our industry has at times been slow to appreciate that whilst we do of course need to sell cars, what really comes first is giving customers outstanding experiences before, during and after the ‘sale’. That’s exactly how I’ve built my career and it is something I am looking forward to driving to new levels.

To deliver a truly world-class customer experience, you need a world-class team that feels supported and valued and a part of the Jacksons family. This will serve as our foundation. We are fortunate to have an exceptional team already, but we must also address a few challenges that come with managing nearly 30 manufacturers, each with their own distinct systems, under one roof. However, we are already making considerable progress in overcoming these obstacles, with exciting results. Indeed, it brings me immense pride to share that, for the first time, the Isle of Man leads the Group in both sales and aftersales customer satisfaction. Our dedicated teams here should celebrate this achievement, but we recognise that there is always more work to be done.

And so, here I am, on the Isle of Man, a place my family and I have long dreamed of relocating to. While I have much to learn about the island, I eagerly anticipate settling in, taking leisurely walks with our two dogs, and embracing the vibrant island life.

Finally, I would be absolutely delighted to meet both our longstanding and new customers. If you happen to visit, I kindly invite you to take a moment to say hello. Your support and presence mean a great deal to us."
